As a singer, you always try to improve and get better to not only be renown but also feel incredible with yourself by seeing the improvements you have accomplished.

But how frequently should you practice to improve? Singing is a skill, and if you want to develop your voice, you have to put in the time to do so.

-Brand new singers are expected to practice 10 minutes per day.
-Beginners should take 30 minutes per day to practice.
-Vocal majors typically practice two hours or more every single day.

Creating a daily practice routine will get your vocal and breathing muscles in shape. Take advantage of the time you have. While having time set aside for singing so you can focus on technique, posture, and breathing is the most effective, that doesn't mean you can't sing while cooking, cleaning, driving, and showering.

Furthermore, applying to AIMM can help you improve, teach you singing techniques, audio recording and mixing, help you build your career, and more!

As a new musician, you must know which, how, and when to use social media to engage with possible followers. For this reason, we have gathered some tips you can follow to engage faster on Facebook and spread your music around:

- Create a Facebook Group
One unfortunate aspect of Facebook is that your musician page cannot message followers until they've messaged you first. However, to increase engagement differently, creating a Facebook group will make you accomplish that goal. With it, you could easily engage with your followers by posting documents, create polls, sell merch, and more. Creativity is the key to success.

- Go Live
Going live creates a sense of "something is happening RIGHT NOW," which can give your followers FOM, fear of missing out.
You can promote the event for a few days and call it "a virtual concert" to catch people's attention, or maybe you want to use it as an opportunity to drop a new song.

Engaging rather than having followers is what you would like to do as a new musician. It gives you more opportunities to be known and go viral.

As a new musician that is starting to dive into social media platforms and their uses. It's important to know which app, platform, and community suits you best. Instagram, for example, has interesting specific uses that will help you get engagement with future followers and fans. Here are some tips for managing Instagram:

- Choose a Business Profile

When you sign up to Instagram, it gives you some options, one of those is adapting your account into a Business Profile. We recommend using that because it gives you many great insights that will provide you with the information you need to target your audience, engage, and post.

- Don't Ignore Instagram Stories

Stories are a fantastic way to engage your followers, especially with the new tools they've implemented. The poll, for instance, is a great chance to find out what your followers like. Besides that, once you get to 10k followers, you can link your music directly from Spotify. Think about that to share your music as soon as you can!

Managing your Instagram profile it's pretty much up to you, but with these tips in mind, you could engage and be known faster on social media.

As a beginner musician, knowing what social media fits you, your music, and what you want to do with it is a big start. With more than 320 million monthly users on Twitter, that's exactly what you are looking for to start having engagement that will lead you to be known and established as a professional musician. To use this platform properly, here are some tips to help you:

1. Utilize Hashtags to say what your music is about or what genre of music you subscribe to. Hashtags help funnel and concentrate on singular topics. If your music fits into a category or topic, why not use hashtags to your benefit?

2. Asking Questions is a classic engagement-building technique. Rather than simply putting out information, asking a question lets the follower get involved, and boy, people love giving their opinions!

There are plenty of extra tips for you to use on social media that will help you engage more. Click the learn more button for more information.

Remember that at AIMM we prepare you to face the music industry with the knowledge that only our team of professional teachers and musicians can teach you!

Followers are great to have if you are starting as a musician, but on social media, engagement is key to success. Being new to any platform involves a lot of effort, so can you begin having higher engagement?

1. Do Some Engaging Yourself
Engaging with other accounts may seem counter-intuitive to your goal, but social media is full of musicians self-promoting their projects. You don't want to get lost in that shadow.

2. Share Links
If you're using Facebook to build up your YouTube channel, for example, don't post, "If you like this song, check it out on YouTube" without including a link. Make it easy for people to find you and your content.

3. Vary Your Post Type
One way to come off incredibly spammy is just posting the same thing all the time. Get creative and find new ways to engage your followers.

Getting more engagement can be difficult, but trying these tips can help you reach that goal.

7/23/2020

Are you a new musician and want to be recognized worldwide? What you would like to do is creating social media profiles and start posting content and music to gain followers and engagement. Having lots of followers don't imply that your engagement would be equally good if the content you post isn't unique and just "another post" you see. For those that equate followers to engagement and success, there are two approaches they will take:

1. If you start following other people without discretion and hope some stick and decide to follow back, you will be very disappointed on many occasions. A small amount of all those people will actually follow you back but if the content is not of their interest, they will most likely unfollow you over time.

2. Buying followers is a must-don't you wouldn't like to do. This may be incredibly tempting to beef up your social profile and make it seem like you're highly desired, but there are 3 major drawbacks to this technique: Bad Optics, Misrepresentation, Impacting the Algorithm

Valuing engagement rather than the number of followers when you just started as an artist is what you should focus on. Be creative, consistent, and have great content, at some point your followers will be equal to your engagement!
