Before a singing performance, you can be really nervous and you might want to get a relaxing time to free your mind and have a cup of coffee. However, having a cup of coffee is not the best idea considering that: -Coffee makes you go to the bathroom often and you never want to be dehydrated during and before a vocal performance. Instead of coffee, you could try decaffeinated tea. There are teas great for vocal performance out there! A healthy, well-balanced meal an hour or two before a performance will give you the energy you need for the performance. Skipping out on the coffee-boost won't be detrimental.
